Hi Dennis, when near death experiencers talk about God they seldom mean the God of any particular religion. The God in whose presence I was is only unconditional love. That is the God experienced by most.

All of us have experienced love, compassion and Oneness. But to leap ahead and say that these experiences are proof of the existence of a god, is truly a leap of faith. It is similar to saying that because there are trees, then a god must exist. Does the existence of a frog mean that a god exists?

If there was no other possible explanation for frogs or trees or compassion or love, then I would have to agree that a god exists. But, without testing other explanations, then one cannot and should not jump to the conclusion that a god exists.

Perhaps, I am not aware of what you mean by a god. If it is 'The God', in the biblical sense, then it is not only difficult but also illogical to accept your explanation. If what you mean by a god is something else, then I would like to understand exactly what that god means to you.
